Let's Heal (Not Hurt) the Process.

Negative Self Talk happens when your inner voice turns into a Downer Dan. You tell yourself that you can’t reach your goals or shouldn’t believe in your abilities. Negative Self Talk is well, negative. It has negative effects on your self image and alters your perception of how your problems exist in the world.

This also applies the recovery process and general mobility work in your everyday life. You want to powerlift? Great. Perfect, do that. But, if you stunt yourself by starting a strength training program with a limited mindset, then your growth will be limited. For example, don’t tell yourself “I have bad knees”, let’s call it my knees are healing instead. We go from a problem that is happening to us, to a problem that we are actively working on. We go from accepting an issue, to combating an issue.

And that my friends is how we avoid the trap that is Learned Helplessness. Let’s learn how to heal and grow, let’s not learn that are problems are problems that will exist forever and that will be that. Got it? Good.
